Creating user-centered design for website concept renewal
The National Land Survey of Finland NLS safeguards the land ownership and credit granting system by maintaining information about mortgages and registrations of title to property as well as other property information in its registers.
NLS wanted to redesign their website concept to better serve their non-professional clients. Cresense redesigned the front page and service description pages from organization oriented to use case oriented, with a focus on usage scenarios that the visitors of the NLS website have.
The design was validated twice, first with paper prototypes that were tested by both users and customer service specialists. The design was tested for the second time with users after the implementation.
The results of the user tests and general feedback of the new design have been extremely positive. Based on the feedback NLS decided to extend the scenario and use case approach to the rest of the web service.
